about

This album is the third one that is connected to the place where I live (Quarantaine and Fluid were the first two).

Recordings were made, this time, related to air.

I've made recordings of electromagnetic frequencies, as well as recordings of bats (sounds in the air around us you cannot hear). Also some weather recordings are used. A Chinese wind gong was recorded with a very close Blumlein pair so the positions where the sounds were made on the gong are magnified between the left and right speakers. My voice was recorded as well as a mouth harp: airy instruments. The notes of the melodies are spaced far apart, so there is a lot of space between them. The melodies follow chaotic curves, curves that are related to the chaotic behavior of wind. Sometimes they sound like stars in the sky.
The metal sounds are reminiscent of the sounds I hear here in the harbour where ships and constructions are built for work on the sea. Sometimes you hear voices through speakers, but you don't know where they come from.
That's the kind of universe where I live!

The whole piece was made in software I've written myself in Max MSP. Without this, this record would not have been possible...
